WHAT WE DO

Western Sydney Philharmonic (WSP) is building a vibrant musical ecosystem in the heart of Western Sydney – an orchestral training organisation of both regional and national significance.

A true philharmonic – meaning “love of harmony and music” – WSP embraces this in its fullest sense by fostering a pipeline of musical excellence across multiple tiers of activity. From school-aged programs like The Advocates, through to opportunities for emerging artists to train intensively with mentors and soloists, every initiative is designed to connect, inspire and nurture the next generation of performers.

At its pinnacle sits the Western Sydney Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (WPCO): a flagship ensemble sui generis – unique, perfectly formed, and charged with artistic ambition of the highest order. WPCO unites outstanding young musicians with leading professional mentors and international soloists to create electrifying performances that rival any stage in the country.

WSP began as a vision to provide opportunities for young people in Western Sydney to learn, play, and perform beautiful music. Today, it has grown into Western Sydney’s own orchestra – one that not only trains and inspires, but also produces thrilling, memorable performances that resonate deeply with audiences.

As a not-for-profit, every dollar earned is reinvested into our programs, ensuring that young musicians from across the region can access the highest quality training and performance opportunities.

If you share our love of music, join us at a concert or get in touch to find out how you can support this exciting journey.
